Patriot Engineering Team forms for 2012

A small group of students, sponsors and supporters have organized the Patriot Engineering Team. The group will engage in science and engineering activities, both inside and in addition to classroom studies. The purpose and intent of the group, is to strengthen science education by providing hands on experience to the young students, all while having as much fun as possible !

PET has registered with the First Lego League and has been assigned Team #2265. The students will be involved in the Lego League projects in 2012, and will also move on to the Lego League robotics competitions. The Lego League is a great forum for engineering study, and the PET group is excited to become a participant in the league.

Plans are also underway to develop a model rocketry program with the PET group. We hope to be able to have students design and build their own model rocket, with a possible group launch for the completed rockets later in the spring.

Stay tuned for more information on these exciting plans and the PET group.
